There are two main
classes of Membership of the institute namely:
Incorporated
Company Accountants and Registered Students.
A person shall
be admitted as incorporated Company Accountant if :
i He/She passes the Professional Qualifying Examination conducted
by the Council of the Institute.
ii He/She hold a qualification granted in Nigeria
and for the time being accepted by the council of the Institute.
A person is entitled to register as a Student Member if he satisfied
the Council that:
(a) He/She is not less than 16 years of age.
(b) He/She possesses the basic educational qualifications and
(c) He/She is a fit and proper person to be so registered.
DESIGNATORY LETTERS
Every member of the Institute is entitled to use
the following designatory letters after his/her name:
1. In the case case of follow, the letter FCCA(Representing the
word “ Fellow of the
Institute of Company and Commercial Accountants”).
2.In the case of an associate, the letters ACCA (representing
the word “Associate of the Institute of Company and Commercial
Accountancy “)
3. In the case of registered Students the letters
“RS” (representing the words “Registered
Students).
PRIVILEGES OF MEMBERSHIP
A members is entitled to:
>>Receive a Membership Certificates under the seal of the
Institute.
>> Use the description “Incorporated Certified Company
Accountants
>> Use the designatory letter “FCCA or ACCA” as
appropriate.
>> Received the “ The Company Accountant”; the
quaterly journal of the Institute.
>> Receive circulars sent out from time to time
>> Employment Registered
>> District Society (Local)
>> Information to our members
>> Attend meeting of the Local District Society
>> Receive notification of functions arranged by the Intitute.
>> Utilize the services of the employment register.
>> Obtain advice on practical problems arising from his/her
working environment.
DISTRICT SOCIETIES MEETING
One very important purpose of the District Society
Meeting is to provide top quality lecture so that members and Students
can be technically up to date.
Another important purpose is to provide opportunity
for the member to know and meet local colleagues.
PUBLICATIONS
The institute will publish the following for the benefits of Members,
Students and the general public.
(a) “The Membership Year Book”
containing list of members and other general information about the
Institute.
(b) “ The Company Accountancy “ the official journal
of the Institute containing authoritative articles on Company Accountancy
Practice and related subjects.

from the Institute.

Eligibility
Condidature is open to those employed in the Accountancy Financial
Institution and those interested in the accountancy profession.
Every applicant will be required to produce
satisfactory evidence of his age, qualifications together with certified
two size photographs.
